More about Hippy's Farm (the location)

Leat cottage is our purpose-built, self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of the Somerset countryside. It is an ideal base for a relaxing, family holiday and is close to many tourist attractions ? Bath, Cheddar, Longleat and Glastonbury to name just a few.

The holiday cottage is situated within the grounds of our small holding, Hippy?s Farm, on the edge of the village of Coleford, leading out into open farmland. Our farm is home to 20 breeding ewes and our pet goats.

The village itself has a pub and shop within easy walking distance of the cottage and within a couple of miles there are excellent places to eat out. The towns of Frome, Radstock and Midsomer Norton are all within a few miles.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, there is an extensive network of footpaths in the area and The Colliers Way cycle path. And the historic Babington House is only three miles away (the farm used to belong to the Babington estate until the 1920s).

Our location gives you the choice to enjoy the countryside or take advantage of many wonderful days out. Somerset has so much to offer, a week probably won?t feel long enough!

The holiday cottage itself has an open plan living space with a panoramic window view and French doors leading to a terrace, to maximise your views of the fields and the wildlife on the adjoining River Leat ? where we are often visited by a heron and a kingfisher.

Leat Cottage (the cottage)

Leat Cottage has three double sized bedrooms ? two with king sized beds and one with two single beds ? so can comfortably accommodate six people. One of the rooms with king sized bed is located on the ground floor, so is accessible for guests with limited mobility. For your added comfort, we have under-floor heating throughout the ground floor of the cottage and radiators upstairs.

There is a downstairs power shower and w/c and a bathroom upstairs.

The kitchen is well equipped with oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, pans, crockery, cutlery and tea towels. And the living area has LCD flatscreen TV, DVD player and Sky TV (basic package).

Children are very welcome at the cottage. Parents of young children should take note of the close proximity of the River Leat. However there are lockable railings around the terrace for your added peace of mind.

Please note that Leat Cottage is completely non-smoking and we do not accept pets to stay.

There is plenty of parking space available ? enough for six cars! ? and access from the parking area to the cottage is all at ground level.
