More about Old House Farm (the location)

A delightful rustic barn, amidst 22 acres of farmland with truly wonderful views of the Black Mountains, in the tiny, undiscovered hamlet of Newton St Margarets, beautiful in its idyllic simplicity.

A typically English cottage garden with small pond, a touch on the wild side! Lots of sunny spots for a quiet read, evening drinks or simply to sit and admire the stunning landscape.

Old House Farm (the cottage)

Our Barn has a natural, earthy appeal, with quality furnishings throughout, giving it a sense of style, light and space.

Enchanting hall/sitting area, with large comfy sofa and piano, flagstone floors, fabulous timber work and fantastic views.

A large cosy sitting room has inglenook fireplace complete with woodburner (logs provided), quality furnishing and an additional sofa bed. Terrific views from three aspects.

Upstairs, under sloping ceilings with oak beams, the bedrooms are furnished in fresh country style, with French wrought iron beds, quality linen and towels.

Three bedrooms, one twin, with ensuite bathroom and quality shower, and one double/family room, sleep up to five and additionally, there is a single bed on the galleried landing (not suitable for small children), which doubles as a place to sit and admire the view from yet another aspect.

A simple, rustic, but luxurious bathroom with bath, basin and loo, completes the upstairs...

A real country style kitchen - this room is a great social space, with simple free standing pine cupboards, terracotta tiled floor, large oak table (seats 10), oil fired rayburn (wonderful for chilly evenings) and french doors which look out over the Black Mountains. All the boring but necessary items like stainless steel double oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, cooker, microwave etc., included. In the larder you will find a variety of teas, fresh coffee, sugar, herbs, oil, etc.,
A freshly baked cake and a scrummy food hamper full of goodies, all grown, reared, brewed, pickled or baked in Herefordshire! Delicious suppers and winter/summer picnic hampers delivered to your door.... one of the many optional extras.
