More about Esgair Cottage (the location)

Esgair Cottage provides self-catering accommodation for two set deep within the magnificent countryside of Southwest Wales. It?s setting borders on the counties of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, which offer?s diversity in its landscapes from golden beaches to lush green valleys.

In Welsh ?Esgair? traditionally translates into the ?high ridge of the valley?. This simplicity in its meaning subtly describes the beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Situated near the old market town of St.Clears near Carmarthen, the area tenders a wide variety of activities and attractions to suit a vast range of interests.

We are 17 miles from the picturesque coastal towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot, within easy reach of the National Botanic Garden of Wales and a stones-throw from the medieval township of Laugharne, from which Dylan Thomas composed much of his prose.

Esgair Cottage (the cottage)

Esgair has a light and airy sitting room with patio doors overlooking the garden. We have television with freeview, a DVD player, radio/CD player and electric wood stove.

The stone walled double bedroom has a traditional beamed ceiling and ensuite bathroom with bath, separate shower, WC and hand basin.

We have a naturally bright, fully equipped kitchen/dining room. This includes an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with an icebox and a washing machine. Within the kitchen is a small workstation with computer.

The central heating is timed to suit and hot water is in plentiful supply. Electricity, water and heating are included as is bed linen and towels. Although Esgair Cottage is a one-floor property, there are steps leading down to the garden and remains traditional in its features by retaining slight split-level rooms.

The Cottage also has it's own secluded South facing garden surrounded by deciduous woodland offering superb scenic views.
