Higher Muddiford Farmhouse is in an ideal setting for exploring North Devon. Within a 20 minute drive of the house are some of the areas beautiful golden beaches, including Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde. There are also several smaller inlets and secluded coves, which are ideal for relaxed days out with the family. Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe is another that is well worth a visit with a sea pool its highlight.

Barnstaple is less than 5 miles from the farmhouse and has a good range of shops, restaurants and attractions on offer. All the major banks and supermarkets can also be found in the town. The town's leisure centre with indoor pool and tennis centre are easily located on the road that leads to Barnstaple Railway Station.

Other towns worth visiting when staying in the area are Clovelly, Lynton and Lynmouth an Appledore.

Attractions in the area include The Big Sheep, Watermouth Castle, Exmoor Zoo and The Combe Martin Wildlife Park.

For walkers there are plenty of footpaths around the farmhouse, as well as the South West Coastpath within easy reach. Cyclist will enjoy the Tarka Trail.

Higher Muddiford Farmhouse (the cottage)

Higher Muddiford Farmhouse is a beautiful, traditional Devon long-house, which can comfortably sleep up to 10 in 5 bedrooms. Located within a few miles of Barnstaple in North Devon, this stunning farmhouse has only recently been fully refurbished to create a wonderful home-away-from-home for guests looking to enjoy a holiday in North Devon.

All the rooms at the farmhouse are tastefully decorated and have been finished to a very high standard. The large living room has a wonderful wood-burner for chilly evenings and newly fitted wood flooring. The comfy sofas are ideal for relaxing, whilst a TV with Sky and DVD player are great for evening entertainment. If the children want their own room then they will love the Snug, a separate smaller living room with games cupboard and Nintendo Wii. WiFi is also available.

The kitchen at the Farmhouse is large and spacious with the pine dining table at its heart. The kitchen along with adjoining pantry feature all the necessary equipment needed for creating simple breakfasts through to five course banquets, including a traditional countryside Rayburn, separate electric oven with hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The handy utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. Also, located downstairs is a family bathroom, which features a shower, loo and hand wash basin.

Upstairs at Higher Muddiford Farmhouse there are five good sized bedrooms. The Master is lovely and light with a big window for admiring the views of the local countryside. The Master has a double bed and also benefits from its own en-suite bathroom featuring bath and separate shower. Along the corridor are the four other bedrooms, which include two bunk bed rooms that are sure to keep the children happy, a standard double bedroom and a flexible double/twin bedroom, which has zip and link beds. A family bathroom is also located upstairs and has a bath with hand-held shower attachment, loo and sink.

To the rear of the Farmhouse is a large garden that is ideal for children and dogs. There is also a terrace area with table and chairs for enjoying alfresco dinners and a portable BBQ. A smaller level lawn is located to the front of the farmhouse and is nicely sheltered by hedgerows giving it plenty of privacy.
