Nearby there are good restaurants in the Rising Sun, Idle Rocks, and St. Mawes Hotel. A short stroll towards the Castle brings you to the Tresanton Hotel, and its terrace restaurant renowned for its style and famous clientele.

Ferries bustle in and out from the Quay, and can take you across to Falmouth, up river to Trellissick for NT gardens and a cream tea, or over to St. Anthony with excellent walks to Place Manor and the Lighthouse.

Nearby there are wonderful places to visit such as The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the National Maritime Museum.
