Hiddenglen Holiday Cottages in Highlands
More about Hiddenglen (the location)
Peter and I re-established the croft of Laikenbuie which is situated in a beautiful Hiddenglen four miles inland from Nairn beside the Moray Firth. The lodges are of unbeaten quality and kept very clean, plus chalet and caravan, overlook a loch surrounded by natural birch woods and bog meadows full of wild flowers. You can watch roe deer, red squirrels, or glimpse a wild cat, or fox. We have seen eighty species of bird, including osprey fishing for brown trout in the loch, buzzard, red kite, barn owl, long-tailed tit and a greater spotted woodpecker comes to the balconies. We are half an hours drive from Inverness and Loch Ness and just ten minutes from the sandy beaches and dolphins of the Moray Firth. There are 14 golf courses within an hour's drive, several castles and the Speyside distilleries whisky trail.
