More about Carsebuie (the location)

A magical secluded traditional cottage with fabulous views over undulating pasture to the Galloway Hills. Red squirrels, brown hares and deer frequent the one-a-half-acre garden, which is a fantastic playgroud for children and a haven for birds and other widlife.

Within minutes of the Galloway Forest and fishing lochs, Carsebuie is also well placed for visiting many of the regions highlights: beautiful natural bays and sandy beaches, 30 golf courses, 20+ gardens open to the public, the Galloway Hills, Southern Upland Way, 7Stanes mountain bike trails, outdoor activitiy centres, ice cream maker and adventure playground at Cream O' Galloway.

To the west lies Portpatrick with pretty waterfront shops and cafes, and the ferry port town of Stranraer, where you can take a day trip to Belfast on the giant sea cat ferry.

The market town of Newton Stewart just 10 minutes drive to the east has numerous shops including an award winning butcher, delicatessen, supermarkets, outdoor clothing and country sports stores, banks, cinema, chemist, health centre, vet, filling stations, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Wigtown, Scotland's National book town is only 14 miles south, with around 18 bookshops including specialist, rare and antiquarian volumes. A few miles further south on the Machars peninsular you will find the fishing villages of Garlieston, with 2 sandy beaches and a harbour view pub, and Isle of Whithorn with excellent harbour side pub and restuarant and Scotland's smallest digital cinema. Also not to be missed are Whithorn and Saint Ninian's Cave birthplace of Christianity in Scotland.

Carsebuie (the cottage)

Carsebuie has 4 comfy bedrooms with 2 on the ground floor, a wet room and bathroom on the ground floor and a WC with washbasin on the first floor. Zip and link beds in 2 of the rooms makes this a flexible choice for groups of families and friends.

The kitchen with extending dining table for up to 10 is well equipped with a washing machine, microwave, Rayburn range, with drying pulley above (great for drying gear after an action packed day or for those baby and toddler clothes). There is also an electric double oven cooker so plenty of capacity for food lovers to enjoy cooking. Other equipment includes fridge freezer, a coffee machine, and a bread maker.

The kitchen and spacious living room is linked by a conservatory leading out onto the garden dining terrace. The living room with wood burner, Freeview digigital TV, DVD and stereo and collection of DVD, CDs, books and games seats 10 comfortably. There is also a very comfy sofa bed for 2.

Across the courtyard is a games barn with table tennis, childrens play area and a good sized kennel for up to 4 dogs and a small adjoining dog enclosure. Dogs think they are in heaven here, the walks are so good.
