More about Millers Cottage (the location)

The Miller's Cottage. is a charming, traditional brick and pantile north norfolk holiday cottage attached to an 18th century mill house. The buildings are adjacent to a wind and watermill standing on the River Burn in the hamlet of Burnham Overy Town half a mile from the sea. During his boyhood Lord Nelson is supposed to have walked across the fields to visit the mill from his home at Burnham Thorpe. The unspoilt village of Burnham Market with its popular shops and pubs is just five minutes walk.

The area is famous for its wide sandy beaches, those at Brancaster and Holkham are within a few miles. The salt marshes and nature reserves along the coast are a haven for birdwatchers, walkers and nature lovers. Golf, sailing and riding are available locally. For those who enjoy visiting historic houses, Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall and Sandringham House are all within easy reach.

Well equipped, comfortably furnished and in one of the most desirable areas of north Norfolk, Millers Cottage offers a perfect place for a rural break, a family holiday, or a base for exploration of the stunning landscapes of East Anglia. Filled with books, DVD’s, and board games, it’s ideal no matter what the weather, with a Wifi connection offering connection to email and the internet. If you’re arriving late and don’t have time to go to the shops, ask us about our welcome hamper – we’re happy to get you some basic essentials, or even a meal ready to put into the oven.
